When does BC Autism Funding end, and what are the key dates?
Quick Answer
Autism Funding continues unchanged until March 2027: it accepts new families until March 1, 2027 and takes its last invoices on March 31, 2027. From April 1, 2027, new families apply directly to the new Disability Benefit. The ministry says it will contact current families about their move.
Autism Funding takes its last invoices on March 31, 2027. From April 1, 2027, new families apply directly to the new BC Children and Youth Disability Benefit instead.
The key dates the Government of BC has published:
- Now until March 2027: Autism Funding continues unchanged and is accepting new applications. The province's guide for current service recipients gives March 1, 2027 as the last day new families can be onboarded. Diagnosis and eligibility steps do not change before then.
- April 2026 to March 2027: children enrolled in the At Home Program are the first group moving to the Disability Benefit. The province says more details about transition timelines for children in other programs will be shared in the future.
- March 31, 2027: last day Autism Funding receives invoices.
- April 1, 2027: new families apply directly to the Disability Benefit.
- July 2027: first payments of the income-tested Disability Supplement, based on 2026 tax returns.
Until your family has moved to the new system, the province says to keep using your current funding. The ministry says it will contact each family with information about their transition, and that Autism Funding families will be contacted about eligibility before the program closes.
These dates are from the Government of BC's published pages and guide, checked in October 2026. Dates can change, so check with the Autism Funding team (1-877-777-3530) before making plans.
